Fieldtrip to Kalø Økologisk Landbrugsskole

A date for your calendars for those in START, CEH and indeed anyone interested in agro-foods, the green transition, learning for sustainability, how young Danes are turning to agro-ecology, or would just like to see how universities can engage with other educational institutions!

Make sure to join us on our fieldtrip to Kalø Økologisk Landbrugsskole (Kalø Organic Agricultural College), a vocational training school which prepares its trainees for future careers within organic food production, e.g., through educational programmes such as “Global Organic Farmer” and “Production Manager”: https://videndjurs.dk/en/kaloe-organic-agricultural-college 

This fieldtrip (in more senses than one) promises to be inspiring, informative and experience-rich! You will not only get the opportunity to learn about how the next generation of organic farmers are gaining the skills needed for the green transition, but you will also get to experience where their learning is taking place in the scenic setting of Mols, close to Aarhus.

• During the first hour, Julie Rohde Birk, who is the Principal of the College, will provide a guided tour of the school, the grounds and school farm, telling us about the college and taking questions.
• This will be followed by an opportunity for networking and discussions over coffee and cake.

Outward journey: We will take Bus 123 from the bus stop at Aarhus Universitet/Nordre Ringgade at 11:59 (it is a direct bus that arrives at our destination at 12:42). Please be there at 11:50 at the latest.

Return journey: We will take Bus 123 that leaves for Aarhus at 15:37.
