Abstract
In recent decades, Bogotá, Colombia has gained a global reputation for its initiatives to grow and support bicycle use in its transportation system. Bicycles now play a central role in the city's urban sustainability imaginaries and policies. In this talk, cultural anthropologist Luis Vivanco discusses how bicycle advocates and officials involved in mobility and environmental politics are shaping and contesting what it means to contribute to positive urban change through everyday use of the bicycle.
