Landbohistorisk Selskab, in collaboration with the Department of History and Classical Studies, invites you to an open seminar on livestock and the relationship between humans and animals in agriculture through the ages.
The seminar invites reflections on how we might write the history of agriculture with domesticated animals at the center. This is highly topical at a time when the number of livestock has never been greater – nationally as well as globally – while daily contact between humans and farm animals has never been smaller. Animal welfare is under debate, and the climate and biodiversity crises call for a rethinking of our relationship to domesticated animals.
