Abstract

How can interactions with plants inspire language and art? Join this creative workshop in the Botanical Garden, where research from the Department of Global Studies and the Department of Biology comes together.

Explore the garden’s plant collection with a botanist, learn how Japanese kanji (writing) have shaped meaning in history with a historian, and create your own plant-inspired hieroglyph that captures your experience of nature. Expect creativity, new perspectives, and become a storyteller of more-than-human worlds.
