Meet our new Research Assistant: Mika Thorsgaard Frølunde

CEH is happy to welcome Mika Thorsgaard Frølunde who, as our new research assistant, will help organize and support CEH activities.

Mika has a passion for environmental and sustainability issues on a global, national and individual level. With a background in French and African Studies from the Humanities, she has been involved in project coordination, reporting and evaluation within the themes of climate change and gender equality, primarily in West and North Africa. After some years working for NGOs in the development sector, she has more recently focused on inner development in a Danish context, where she has worked as a coordinator for the Inner Development Goals Hub in Denmark, in addition to founding a smaller company focused on nature-relating, meditation and yoga.

Mika is very excited to now turn her career towards the academic world, with its focus on examining and challenging fundamental frameworks – thus creating and supporting possibilities for societal change.

In the past few months Mika has been working on developing a project together with Heather around afforestation and citizen engagement, through which she hopes to further her interests in debates around methods for fostering empowerment and evaluation of efforts to spark societal transformation.

In her free time, she is engaged in permaculture and is actively involved in the development of a tiny house community.
