Visiting PhD student Samwel Ntapanta
Earlier this spring, CEH was happy to host Samwel Ntapanta, a visiting PhD student from the University of Oslo and a member of its “AnthroTox: Anthropology of Toxicity” research group. Because Samwel’s visit overlapped with the COVID-19 situation, many of you may have missed the opportunity to meet him. Samwell is currently writing an exciting dissertation about electronic waste in Tanzania, and we hope that he will be able to return to Aarhus in 2021 to give an in-person talk about his research at a CEH lunch seminar. In the meantime, we invite you to read a recent blog post about his research, titled “Hacking Life: Electronic Waste Salvaging in an Africa Digital Age,” available through the AU Anthropology community website.
