Travel and accomodation

Arriving in Aarhus

Aarhus airport (Tirstrup) is connected to a number of European cities, but some will need to fly to Aarhus via Copenhagen Airport (Kastrup). A shuttle connects Aarhus airport to the city. Alternatively, you can fly into Billund Airport (a local airport) and then travel to Aarhus city centre by Bus or by Train (DSB) from there.

See Visit Aarhus for Aarhus’s official tourism website.

Aarhus is the 2017 European Capital Culture. See here for more information.

Arriving at Moesgård Museum

Go by bus:

The city bus 18 Mejlby/Elev – Moesgård leaves Downtown Aarhus (Park Allé) 3-4 times per hour on weekdays. The trip takes approximately 30 minutes and you will need a ticket for two zones (cash only on bus – adult: 20 DKR; child: 10 DKR; 1-2 children under 12 years are free when accompanied by an adult).

For more information and to plan your journey, see here.

Go by car:

Moesgaard Museum is located south of Aarhus in the suburb of Højbjerg. You’ll easily find the museum by taking Oddervej and then Moesgård Allé about 1 km south of Aarhus city limit.

Accommodation

We recommend booking accommodation in Aarhus city centre (see suggestions below), which is a short bus ride away from the conference venue at Moesgård Museum. As always, it is a good idea to book your hotel in good time.
